Newport offers plenty of family attractions including two lighthouses (both open for tours), tide pools at yaquina head, and a real working historic bayfront with shops, deep sea fishing, crabbing off the docks, and a marina. Encompassing the far northwest corner of oregon and the oregon coast, bordered by the pacific ocean and columbia river, astoria is an enchanting city with a long history tied to the region.

There are only a couple cafes in town, and not much going on. One of the most popular spots to visit along the oregon coast, cannon beaches population hovers right around 1,600 people with the number of annual visitors sitting around 500,000 per year.
